A big thank you to the Oslo Game Hub for inviting our team members Michael and Jacob to discuss accessibility in games recently. Viken Film Centre<\/a> and Women in Games Norway<\/a> welcomed a large audience from the regional games industry to focus on the importance of accessibility, inform of some of the resources available, and share experiences.<\/p>\n

Jacob, one of our specialist occupational therapists, said, “It was so great to not only participate in a talk about how game developers can make their games more accessible from a motor perspective, but also hear from other speakers with their own experiences and thoughts on gaming accessibility. It confirmed that we are all on the same wavelength.”<\/p>\n

“The feedback could not have been more pleasant and it was our genuine pleasure to be involved in this very special event.”<\/p>\n

The seminar featured four presenters, all giving informed insight into how the game industry can make more accessible games, and why it\u2019s important for everyone. The speakers were: Elisabeth Sivertsen (Arevya<\/a>), Michael Nelson (SpecialEffect<\/a>), Jacob Holden (SpecialEffect<\/a>) and Stacey Jenkins (Ubisoft<\/a>).<\/p>\n

We collaborate with developers across the world to find ways of making their games more accessible for all. The SpecialEffect DevKit<\/a>, a freely-available video-based online resource that shines a spotlight on motor accessibility within game design, offers practical ideas and examples for developers looking to make their games more inclusive to players with physical challenges.<\/p>\n
