A record number of games industry partners united to raise over \u00a3660,000 for gamers\u2019 charity SpecialEffect through their One Special Day campaign in October.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The charity, which is continuing to experience a steep upturn in demand for its services, are immensely grateful to 90 companies<\/a> from the worldwide games industry who came together to support their life-changing work. Donations from the event, derived from sales income of mobile and PC games plus a variety of innovative company-driven fundraising challenges, were raised by a diverse range of industry partners.<\/p>\n

The charity celebrates its fifteenth anniversary this year, and the funds raised from One Special Day will be a huge boost in its mission to enrich inclusion and quality of life by helping people with physical disabilities to play video games to the best of their abilities.<\/p>\n

Dr Mick Donegan, SpecialEffect\u2019s CEO and Founder, said \u201cWe simply cannot thank our industry friends enough for showing such immense generosity throughout this campaign, especially during the current global economic uncertainties. Their worldwide support will be vital in enabling us to meet the ever-growing number of support requests from disabled gamers, and to help developers all over the world to make their games more accessible to all.\u201d<\/p>\n
