48 games industry football teams went head-to-head in the SpecialEffect Northern and Southern Masters five-a-side tournaments last week, with Sony and Jagex battling through to lift the respective trophies.<\/p>\n

Already a major annual fixture in the games industry sporting calendar, this year the competition was split across the country to accommodate the increasing demand for places.<\/p>\n

Jagex<\/a> were crowned champions at the Powerleague Shoreditch venue in London, with NaturalMotion<\/a> claiming the Plate knockout. Sony\u2019s PlayStation<\/a> FC team pipped Playground Games to the title at Powerleague Liverpool in a 4-3 thriller, while the Aardvark Swift<\/a> team prevailed in the Plate.<\/p>\n

Jagex\u2019s gloveman Alec won Player of the Day award in London, and PlayStation FC\u2019s Gary Hornby took the accolade in Liverpool.<\/p>\n
