Over 65 games industry partners united to raise over \u00a3760,000 for SpecialEffect through our flagship One Special Day campaign in October.<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019re indebted to the games industry across the world for joining together to support our life-changing work.<\/p>\n The funds raised from One Special Day will be a huge boost in the charity\u2019s mission to enrich inclusion and quality of life by helping people with physical disabilities to play video games to the best of their abilities.<\/p>\n Donations from the campaign on and around 3 October derived from sales income of mobile and PC games plus a variety of innovative company-driven fundraising challenges and an inaugural cross-London walk.<\/p>\n Dr Mick Donegan, our CEO and Founder, said \u201cWe\u2019re truly overwhelmed by the extraordinary support we\u2019ve received from our friends across the games industry through One Special Day, especially during a challenging period for so many companies. As demand for our services continues to rise, this remarkable contribution will play a vital role in helping us share the joy of gaming with thousands of people with physical disabilities – and in supporting developers worldwide to make their games accessible to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n The total is the largest in the campaign\u2019s ten-year history and currently represents around 25% of the funds required annually for the us to maintain our vital services.<\/p>\n
